How is it already July?

The summer is flying by!  Every time I think about all I want to accomplish this summer, I am reminded that it is already 1/3 over! WHAT?  How in the world did that happen?  And the year is already half over too!! Oh my, I need to get my rear in gear.

This week was a bit of a rough week.  The passing of my Auntie hit me really hard and I felt like I just floated through this week.  I tried to distract myself most days at work by keeping the kiddos busy.  And that helped some.  Swimming, the library, doing lots of art and going to the 4th of July parade kept my mind off of the sadness in my heart.  I have to admit the art turned out pretty cute.

The hats were a HUGE hit at the parade!  Almost every float that came by had someone call out that they loved the hats!  Thanks for the inspiration Pinterest! After we made the flags I realized that one of them was accurate with the number of stripes and one wasn’t…Opps!

The hit of the week (other than all the cool art) was the new ‘cleaning supplies’ the kiddos received!  The house will always be clean now 🙂

Anyways, my goal was to be productive yesterday, but it just didn’t happen.  The hubs was working and I am usually able to get a lot done while I am home by myself.  If you call a nap and watching Netflix productive, then it was a win.  Sorry office, we will meet again another day soon!
And I really want to get my office work finished so I can put up my new Running Bling sign!

Anyways, we ended up just getting some pizza (at least it was spinach and I added more tomatoes), watching the fireworks on tv and going to bed.  It was not the most patriotic celebrating, but we were ok with that.
We also had a chat about the history of our country and how according to these videos (1, 2), most Americans need to learn or relearn about our history.
I also took THIS test floating around social media.  Only missed 1 question so I guess I would be able to pass the US Citizen test.  How about you?

What did you do for the 4th?  Race? Fun with family/friends?  Just relax?  Whatever you did, I hope you enjoyed yourself!
