I spent a few days last week/weekend just outside Austin, TX in a tiny little town called Dripping Springs! Let me tell you, I have not been in the middle of nowhere like that in a long time! Thank goodness for GPS that mostly worked or I still might be lost!
I left Thursday morning in the middle of a monsoon rainstorm. The trip started out with a bang. After a few errands and falling FLAT on my face at Target, I got on the road. The first part of my drive was a little rough, but thankfully the skies cleared up after about 45 min.
Took a break and went for a little jog on the property before it poured down rain again.
Woke up Friday morning and went with the bride and one of the other bridesmaids to do errands and take care of business! Overall it was a very successful morning. There was only one thing on the list that we were not able to find.
On our way back to the house we were staying at, we needed to drop off some items to the house the guys were staying at. GPS was not our friend for a little bit and we ended up on the most frighting road/dirt path/cliff I have been on! I am so thankful we were all together and we made it out ok!
The rest of the day we spent on wedding/shower items then got ready for the rehearsal and dinner. More of the wedding party showed up along with family of the bride!
The bride was brilliant and reserved a shuttle service for us involved in the wedding. I was very thankful since I did not know where I was going half the time!
The rehearsal went well, and the dinner was alright. It looked like everyone was enjoying all the food, but I was allergic to most of it. Thank goodness for chocolate desserts!
The gorgeous bride and ring bearer!
After the dinner we all headed back to the bridal house! The girls all stayed there and the guys went on their merry way. We had a great time with games, finger food, and lots of laughter! I am so glad the bride was able to relax a little!
Friday evening during the shower the groomsmen and groom got in a little accident. The car was totaled, but THANK GOD everyone was ok!
They did manage to uproot a tree, but the other tree kept them from more serious damage!
After the shower we stayed up for a few hours getting the last minute items ready for the wedding 🙂 Fun times covered in glitter, gorilla glue and glue dots. 😉
Saturday was WEDDING DAY!! After I did a short run, the bride and I went into town to get a few last min items, her nails fixed and a bang trim. Errands were a breeze. The nail place was the most horrible experience of our lives! We still can not believe what happened in the salon! Not going in to too much detail, but basically the technician did an AWFUL job on her nails, looked like a toddler painted them, and when she asked to get them fixed cause it was her WEDDING day, another tech reamed her out for 15 straight minutes. We finally just left. It was so bad! I am NO expert, but I was able to paint her nails for the wedding and they looked so much better than the professional! Needless to say, that was not the way we intended to spend Saturday morning!
Thankfully the hair salon was full of wonderful ladies who took great care of the bride!
Once we returned to the house it was time for my hair and make-up. I don’t wear a lot of make-up, nor do I have any clue how to do my own hair! Thank goodness for professionals!
Once we were all ready we got on the shuttle and headed to the venue!
Fellow bridesmaid and new friend!!
Since I knew I would be busy the rest of the day/evening, I got some pics of the reception area before the wedding!
It was a gorgeous day for a wedding! Despite ALL the crazy happenings leading up to it, everything went SO well! So thankful for that, and I know the bride is as well!
Bride getting her hair and makeup done!
I am shocked the curl stayed in my hair! It has gotten so long that it doesn’t do much of anything lately….I feel I am still washing out hair product 5 days later 😉
Congrats Kyle and Candace! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your very special day! May the rest of your lives together be filled with so much love, joy, happiness and laughter! ❤ ❤ ❤
