Bulu Box Review PLUS an awesome discount code!

Happy Monday friends!  Can you believe it is the last day of August?? Where has the summer gone?  It feels like it was May just yesterday!
Anyways, I have a fun review to share with you today!  I love that I get to try new things and share with y’all thanks to my partnership with Fit Approach and being a Sweat Pink Ambassador!
So I present to you, my Bulu Box.

What is a Bulu Box you ask?  Well let me explain! It is a fun box that comes with samples of items that pertain to health and/or weight loss (you pick your category).  It is a variety of supplements, foods, sports fuels, nutrition items, sleep aids, energy boosters and more!  Each box comes with 4-5 different samples plus a lifestyle bonus! The beauty of Bulu Box is that they also have full size items for sale right on their website and often have sales on the items!  If you participate in reviews of the products on the site, you earn reward points and can get $ off your boxes!  That sounds like a win-win to me!

So what did I get in my box?  Let me share!

The first item I tried was a Mediterra Bar.  I was a delightful crunchy bar that would be perfect for a on the go snack!  They use real fruits, veggies, grains and seeds to make the bars, so a win in my book!  (Hint, if you go to their website, you can also try 2 flavors for free…just $1.00 for shipping)
IMG_8468 The next item I tried was a Island Boost.  Island boost is an energy fuel source you can take at the beginning of a workout session and throughout the duration of the workout.  I used it a few days ago for a jog and it did seem to help my energy level as I was pretty tired from watching an infant overnight.  The only thing that I was not thrilled about was that it was so sweet! I would be interested in trying different flavors (Valor and Renegade) to see how they compare.

The next item in my box was a sample of Yerba Prima Fiber Plus Powder. Yerba Prima is a company that provides herbal supplements to help things flow properly…if you get my drift 😉  I am all about having enough fiber in my body and making sure there are no issues.  This product is a great way to do that by using natural substances! I love that the products support a healthy digestive track as well as eye sight, respiratory health, memory and more! IMG_8042

My next item is Runa.  It is a tea based on clean energy.  This packet is loose leaf, and I have actually not had a chance to try it! But, I think it will work in a french press?? Someone help me out here.  I can’t wait to try it.  I LOVE tea, and a tea that is made with fantastic ingredients from the Amazon Rain Forest is all good with me.  Plus, it smells amazing through the packet!  I can not wait to get this in my system!
Note: They also sell the tea already brewed in bottles and cans! IMG_8458My last item in the box was what they call a Lifestyle Bonus!  UP4 Probiotics are a kid friendly probiotic. This one came in vanilla, but they come in a variety of flavors as well as being tailored to different genders, ages, and need for immune support.  Even these were for kids, I tried them out.  When I first saw the cube I was afraid it was going to be super chalky, but I was pleasantly surprised it was more creamy.

Foodie Friday: Avocados make me smile!

Hello loves!  Happy Friday!
Wow, another week has flown by!!  I had all these grand plans to post more about my recent trip to Ethiopia and then my bestie from GA showed up on Friday evening to surprise me for my birthday!!! We spent the weekend doing all sorts of fun activities and then she came to work with me for a few days.  Had a blast with her and I was so sad when she left on Wednesday.  But I am SO thankful I will get to see her again soon!!

I’m linking up again today with my girls Farrah from Fairyburger, Annmarie from the Fit Foodie Mama, and Emily from Whatever Floats Your Oats! This week our theme is avocados!!!  They are one of my most favorite foods!  I think I could eat one everyday and never get sick of them.  I love them on omelets, sandwiches, salads, dressings, in smoothies, for chip dipping and baked with an egg.  One of the most common ways I use avocados is when I make taco salad.  I make my own super simple version of guacamole, mix that with a little plain yogurt and I have the perfect dressing for the salad.

Esther’s Guac
Ingredients
1 Ripe avocado
Pinch of Himalayan salt
Pinch of ground black pepper
Pinch of paprika
1/2 tsp lime juice

Directions
1. Take avocado out of the skin and remove the pit.  Smash together in a bowl.
2. Add the spices and lime juice and mix well.
3. Enjoy!

See, it is SO simple, but so yummy!!!

It’s a Peachy Foodie Friday birthday!

When I was looking ahead for our Foodie Friday themes and realized that my birthday theme was peach, I was really excited! I had all these thoughts in my mind and I really wanted to come up with a yummy peach cupcake! Cause you know, birthday cupcakes are the best!!

Sadly, the experiments in the kitchen did not workout for the cupcakes! After a few attempts I think I found the culprit!!!

So today I don’t have a peach cupcake recipe (yet, but I will get it!!!), but I did make an amazing peach frosting recipe that will knock your socks off!

Nap Time!

So yesterday I had intended to post more about our trip to Ethiopia…but then it was nap time for the twins and I was really exhausted from the weekend and spending the morning at the pool.  Just rest for 20 min, I though…90 min later I woke up!  I guess I needed that nap!
Anyways, it is the last week of ‘summer’ here.  School starts for most on Monday.  A few schools already began, but the public schools in my area begin on the 24th!  So we are enjoying the last few days of summer while we can!  We still have next week as the twins don’t start school till Sept, but the pools officially close this weekend, so it feels like the end of summer.  Haha.
In order to fulfill all of the hopes and dreams of the summer, we are hitting up a few pools this week that we managed to miss all summer! It makes for a crazy week, but it will be fun!!!
IMG_7944

On top of a fun week with the kids, my birthday is coming on Friday and the Hubs started the week off right! I came home from work/the gym last night to freshly mopped floors and roses!

I can tell I am finally getting my energy back as I did a TON of house projects over the weekend and again last night!

I am really happy that I finally got this hung up in our eat in kitchen area!

Slow…

Bouncing back to normal life after our trip to Africa has taken a little longer than anticipated.  Almost 2 weeks later I still feel a little foggy.  I am not sure if it is just jet lag, or a combo of the allergic reaction I had in Ethiopia along with a cold I picked up at the end of the trip added to the jet lag.  I have been trying to go to bed early most evenings, and yet unable to fall asleep for hours.  That does not bode well when I have to get up for work.  I don’t have too much planned this coming weekend and NOTHING planned for my birthday weekend, so I sure hope that helps!

IMG_7351

My bed and I need some major quality time together ASAP!

Our first weekend back I tried to jump back into life…maybe not my best move.  Ran around town doing errands and getting our house back to normal with oil change/car wash/groceries/toilet-trees and laundry.  I went to body pump for the first time in a few weeks, and boy were my muscles in for a rude awakening!!! I have been back to a few of my normal workout classes AND purchased some new running shoes (for $35, WIN!!!).

IMG_7400

Of course I had to put in some #sweatpink shoelaces!

I have was reunited with a few of my favorite baby-sitting kids and my workout girls!

IMG_7458
And I can finally say I ran again…it was NOT pretty…and I am SO out of shape, but I managed a few miles of intervals with ZERO hip pain!!! So that is the good news.  I guess all that time off helped my hip to heal better, but I can not wait to really start training again and running longer and then work on my speed…

IMG_7711

Even after my indoor run I am drenched due to this Houston HEAT!

Have a happy and healthy day!

Back from Aftica!

The Hubs and I arrived back home on Friday afternoon. After 30 hours of travel we were a bit worn out and spent some of the weekend recovering.

I hope to do a few more posts about the trip, but for now I will leave y’all with a few of my favorite pics from Ethiopia!
