Bouncing back to normal life after our trip to Africa has taken a little longer than anticipated.  Almost 2 weeks later I still feel a little foggy.  I am not sure if it is just jet lag, or a combo of the allergic reaction I had in Ethiopia along with a cold I picked up at the end of the trip added to the jet lag.  I have been trying to go to bed early most evenings, and yet unable to fall asleep for hours.  That does not bode well when I have to get up for work.  I don’t have too much planned this coming weekend and NOTHING planned for my birthday weekend, so I sure hope that helps!


My bed and I need some major quality time together ASAP!

Our first weekend back I tried to jump back into life…maybe not my best move.  Ran around town doing errands and getting our house back to normal with oil change/car wash/groceries/toilet-trees and laundry.  I went to body pump for the first time in a few weeks, and boy were my muscles in for a rude awakening!!! I have been back to a few of my normal workout classes AND purchased some new running shoes (for $35, WIN!!!).


Of course I had to put in some #sweatpink shoelaces!

I have was reunited with a few of my favorite baby-sitting kids and my workout girls!

And I can finally say I ran again…it was NOT pretty…and I am SO out of shape, but I managed a few miles of intervals with ZERO hip pain!!! So that is the good news.  I guess all that time off helped my hip to heal better, but I can not wait to really start training again and running longer and then work on my speed…


Even after my indoor run I am drenched due to this Houston HEAT!
