    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Awesome! I love finding out that I have things in common with other awesome blogger friends!
Ha, the mixer was a great deal! 25% sale + $50 rebate + 20% more off and a gift card made my out of pocket cost $27! Can’t beat that if you have to pay for it! Lol
I was interviewed by Annderson about the awful identity theft issues I went through.
Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

  3. Kim Hatting

I loved reading through all 34 trivia facts about YOU! I can especially relate to needing to write things down (or forgetting)…. except I forget to write those things down in the first place (my bad).

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Ha if it’s not written down it doesn’t happen! My poor husband has learned to text me everything or it doesn’t happen!
I’m better at times than others but still can improve!
      Thanks to stopping by!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Aww thank you! Each birthday is so much more special now since I appreciate life and what it has to offer!
I would love to travel more. I know I have been blessed with many opportunities and I am very thankful for them. Each time I travel it makes me want to do it more and more!
I have friends currently on a road trip hitting all the lower 48 states!! It has been a blast reading their blog and following their journey!
Thank you! Overcoming the eating disorder was certainly one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life. And also one I am very proud of!
      Thanks for stopping by!

I love all of these 34 facts about it – What a great way to get to know a new-to-me blogger. Heck yes to lifting weights! I teach BODYPUMP and LOVE introducing people to the world of weight lifting. It is not as scary as it can seem and it is so good for your body 🙂

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Yay for body pump!!! I love it! The new release has been awesome!! And hecka hard!
I love when new people come to class and we can show them how strong they are and how fun weight lifting is!!
One of these days I’m gonna get certified and teach!!

  5. Kim Teter

Hi and nice to meet you! This was a great way to introduce yourself!! I’ve had a fear of flying for many years now and this year started facing my fear for work and I’m so glad I did! I now want to see so many things and I can’t wait!! Can’t wait to read more about your adventures!!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Congrats on overcoming your fear!!! I don’t alway like the flying part, but seeing new parts of the world is pretty incredible!
Where have you been on your new travels?
      Thanks for stopping by!

  6. foodiecology

Nice to meet you. I’m visiting through the blog hop, too.
Um, how cool is it that you were on Anderson Cooper?!?!
I’m definitely a dog person, too, and I think it’s awesome you’ve traveled to Costa Rica and Ethiopia. I also love travel, but my journeys have been limited to Europe (which is still awesome, of course), so I’d love to visit South America or somewhere else “exotic” (to me).
Oh, and I’m super jealous you got your kitchen aid for $27. That’s a steal. 🙂 Have a great day!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

      Welcome 🙂
Being on Anderson was certainly an experience! He interviewed me about my awful identity theft issues. So a cool moment reliving a cruddy story. But I’m glad I was able to go!
I will trade you some European travel for South America!
I’ve been to Ecuador & Mexico also. My only Europe trip was to England. Oh and my 1 hour layover in Dublin this summer. But that was just a refuel stop so no time to see Ireland for real.
The kitchen aid was certainly an awesome deal! Probably my best deal ever!!
      Thanks for stopping by!

  7. acbrandt

Nice to meet you! I think we have a lot in common 🙂 you look like you have some great organizing skills—I could use some help in that department, haha! And 33.5 races, that’s amazing!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

      Nice to meet you too!
I love me some organizing! Even considered it a career at one point. If you ever want any tips or help, let me know 🙂
Oh it was an adventurous year! This year I’ve done 3 races with 1-2 more for the year! A bit more sane 😂😂

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

      Glad you enjoyed it!
Ha yes, my dad’s job moved us all over! Now I’ve lived in the same house with my husband the past 4.5 years! The longest I’ve live in 1 house, ever!
I would love to organize your pantry!! 😉

  8. HoHo Runs

Hi! I’m visiting from the hop. I’m a fellow southerner and, yep, still waiting for some fall color. I could definitely use your organizational skills. There just doesn’t seem to be enough time. I love my Vera Bradley wallet. 🙂 I also like to run as many races as possible. I’m currently sidelines with injury 😦 but will be back soon. It was very nice to meet you! If you ever want to link up on Sunday nights or Monday morning, I co-host a Weekly Wrap. We’d love to have you!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

      Welcome! Glad to have you!!
Yay for the south! We actually had some cooler temps (60s) after the hurricane this weekend! Im enjoying the temps but would like some deep red leaves to look at! I guess I will live vicariously through my family up north!
Oh yes, organizing can take time! I just spent 3 weeks (on and off) organizing the kitchen where I work! Small chunks of time worked for me this time!
Oh which wallet and print do you have? I’m getting a new one delivered tomorrow (yay for birthday gift cards!!). Excited 🙂
Boo for running injuries. I’ve been out a lot this year with hip issues. Hope we are both back at it soon!
I would love to link up, is the info on your blog?

    2. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

I tried to reply to your blog about your foot, but my phone is being silly and saying it won’t work. So in case it didn’t work, here is what I said: Boo for a stress fracture! I broke my right 5th metatarsal when I was in college!
I won’t bore you with all the drama, but let’s just say I feel your pain! And prayers for quick healing and that you can run your marathon! Cause yes little left foot, you need to be in Disney in Jan!

  9. Polly

Hi Esther! Nice to meet you! And belated happy birthday! I might do something like this on my spotlight – thanks for the idea. Lived in 14 states? How were you able to cope with it? I bet its fun! Also found out that we have a lot in common, #1. I used to have ED but was able to win the battle against it. I’m glad you did. 🙂 #2. the ZEBRA PRINTS! #3. The beach, 4. yearly themes, … The space wont be enough if I list them all down. LOL. So happy to find your blog, I just tweeted your Roasted Pepper and Butternut Squash Soup – thanks for sharing! 😀

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Nice to meet you too Polly!!
Aww thank you! I love birthdays now that I love life again! 🙂
You are welcome for the idea! Can’t wait to see what you come up with 🙂
I lived in all the states but 1 as a child and adolescent. Thankfully I’ve kept my moves much less since I left home and went to school. I guess I just rolled with the punches as a kid. Now I’m thankful to have more stability!
Glad you overcame your ED too! We are warriors!
And fun that we have so much in common!! Love that!!
Thanks for the retweet and I’m glad we are connected now 🙂

  10. Jennifer Gill

Great post and great way to get to know you!! I’m here from the hop. I can relate to many of your points, so I guess we have a lot in common. I would love to hear more about that interview with Anderson Cooper. I love him!! Especially his laugh. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Thanks for stopping by! Yay for things in common 🙂 love when that happens!
So Anderson did an interview about my experience with identity theft. It was a totally random occurrence that they even invited me to the show! It was all because of Twitter! He sent out a tween asking for ideas for stories for his talk show back in the summer of 2011. I sent my story in then forgot about it. Dec 2011 they called me and 2 days later I flew to NYC for the taping. They aired it on New Years. The whole show was about things to change in the new year and they added “Protect Your Identity” to the list of common New Years resolutions!
It was a super quick but great experience! Would do it again in a heartbeat!
Looking forward to getting to know you better 🙂

  11. Wendy @ Wholistic Woman

Thanks for the intro! It was fun getting to know you. I’m impressed with your race bling. Also that Toxic Charity and When Helping Hurts were in your pile of books as I work for an NGO and am always giving them to churches that I work with.

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Thanks! It seemed like a fun and simple way to share a little about me 🙂
Those books were required reading I did for the trip I took to Ethiopia this past summer. Life changing books and trip!
      Awesome books to pass on!
      Thanks for stopping by!

  12. Marissa @ WhereINeedtoBe

A fellow blog hopper here! I love to travel also and Costa Rica is near the top of my list. I did a surfing and yoga retreat there and went by myself. Definitely the furthest out of my comfort zone I’ve ever been but fell in love with CR while I was there! Nice to meet you!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Hello and nice to meet you Marissa! Oh I could talk about Cost a Rica for days!! Every time I go down a little more of my heart is left there!!
That sounds like an awesome trip you took! I would love to do a fitness/wellness trip there in addition to my mission trips and sight seeing trips!
      Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Ellyn @ In Fitness and In Health

Hi! I’m also visiting from the hop and love these facts! I’m a group ex instructor with a passion for strength training, too – I love that you love lifting weights! Heck yes! Also, $27 for a KitchenAid mixer?!? That’s one amaaaaaazing deal! Love the color, too. Your Australian Shepherds are adorable! I’m a sucker for Shepherds – they melt my heart. 🙂

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Yay for weight lifting!! It makes me feel so good! 🙂
Oh it was the steal of a lifetime! Lots of sales, discounts, a rebate, free shipping and a gift card made it all possible! I love the color so much! It makes me feel peaceful every time I use it!

    2. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Oops sent that before I finished!
Thanks! They were pups I took care of when I was in treatment! They were kind of like therapy dogs! 😉 they did melt my heart, even when they were being stinkers! Ha

  14. Missy @ Getting Fit to Find Myself

I had to chuckle at everything we have in common! I love that you write everything down in your planner, i still do too. I think we are a dying breed! You also made me think that I should go back a count how many races I ran last year. I don’t think it was as many as you but I know it is up there!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Awesome! Love finding new blogger friends who I have things in common with!
I’m amazed when I find others who still use planners! But then again, with all the cute planner companies out there, I’m not 100% surprised 😉 I just ordered an Erin Conrad one for 2016. Been looking for one I love again since the one I used for 10 years was discontinued in 2011!!
Yay for running races! Any more planned for the rest of this year?

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Hi Sarah, thanks for stopping by!
So I was interviewed on Anderson be hard of my identity theft! In the summer of 2011 he tweeted asking not for submissions of interesting stories for his talk show. I sent mine in and didn’t think about it after that till a producer called me in Dec! After 2 days of taking back and forth they flew me up to NYC for the taping. They show was for New Years and along with the normal New Years resolutions they also had a resolution to protect your identity! It was a super fun and crazy fast trip!
And thank you! It still doesn’t seem real some days, but I am so thankful I overcame it and am loving life instead of wanting to die.
Can’t wait to see your blog!!

  15. runawaybridalplanner

I love how your post idea on how you introduced us to you, very creative!!!
So many fabulous things here, first 33.5 races in 1 year holy WOW that is quite a bit freaking AMAZING! I can tell you and I have a lot in common! I love to travel too, it’s just so amazing to see everything the world has to offer! In fact running and traveling are seriously the best combo’s, and since your a book lover I imagine you eat up the plane travel time with a great book:) That is what I do:)
What did Anderson interview you for? That is pretty cool!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Thank you!! I am loving the blog hop! So fun to meet new bloggers and get to know some blogger friends better 🙂
Ha it was a one time year race goal! The goal was 33 races for my 33rd year of life. The last race was a bonus but had to stop at mile 7 of the half due to my hip. But I was just happy to have met my goal!
I love to plan races and vacations together. Every time I have to attend an event out of town I always look to see if there is a race close by that would fit the schedule! Haha.
I love reading on the plane! It seems to be one place I get to read these days for more than 5 min at a time!
I was interviewed on Anderson about my story with identity theft! It has been a crazy ride with that story and I don’t wish what happened to me on anyone!

  16. Mandie

We have so much in common! I love purple, too!

When you were in Costa Rica, did you get to interact with any sloths? They are my favorite animal, and I have been wanting to go to Costa Rica for years to meet them! 😉

What did Anderson Cooper interview you about? Was he nice?

How did you get that KitchenAid for such a good deal??

Any tips on making new friends when you move to a new area? I moved across the country from Milwaukee to California six months ago and am still working on that!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Awesome! Fun to find others who have things in common!! Purple is the best! 😉
I’ve seen a few sloths over time when I have been in Costa Rica but only interacted with some monkeys on the beach!
If you ever get to go fee free to ask any questions! 🙂
Anderson interviewed me about my identity theft story! Long and crazy!
My kitchen aid was on sale, had a rebate, another discount, free shipping and I used a gift card! Best deal ever!
As a kid I made new friends at school. When I moved as a grown up I met new people as I looked for a new church & I joined a running club. Sometimes the library has classes or clubs to join. Or taking a class at a local community college.
What area of CA are you in? I have several friends out there!
Hope you are able to meet some new people soon!

  17. curlycaroline

14 states!? So much moving, doesn’t it wear you down? I’ve had to move around a lot (although in the same areas mostly) a lot now, and every time it drains me. I just dislike the whole process of moving!

Also I love to experiment in the kitchen too! Brussels sprouts!? I was surprised I actually enjoyed those when I finally tested them out. They are so good roasted with pine nuts!

Seems we have a lot in common! I’m getting myself organized and looking for a good planner to stay on top of things for next year. Love cupcakes! and anything sweet really. My boyfriend laughs at me because I become such a cake critic when we go to birthday parties!

What are some great books you have read!? I’ve currently started to read personal development books.

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

      Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
Most of the moves happened in my childhood, so thankfully I didn’t have to do much. But my own moves have been draining as an adult! So thankful my husband and I have been in 1 house since we got married 4.5 years ago!
Yay for kitchen experiments! I was convinced I hated Brussels sprouts then tried them roasted! Whoa, total convert here!
I just ordered and Erin Conrad planner. Have been using different ones the past few years since the one I used to love was discontinued!!
Oh cupcakes! They are my friend! Once my BFF was visiting from Chicago and we want cupcake store hoping. After 5 shops we realized we liked the ones we made better than the rest! Haha. I even made my own cupcakes for my wedding!!
I’ve been reading a lot of books on marriage (always ways to learn and grow) and books about helping others with dignity. Empowering stuff!
Can’t wait to get to know you more through this hop and beyond 🙂

      1. curlycaroline

Wow store hoping sounds fun! But baking is fun too! I had some delicious home made cupcakes from a family friend at a wedding the other day. SO GOOD! Awesome you made your own wedding cup cakes!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Thank you!! It is enjoyable for me and I like knowing that I’m using ingredients that won’t hurt my family or myself in the process! 🙂
If you ever want any recipes let me know! 🙂
      Happy blog hopping!

  18. Kelli

Wow, we could be friends so many of those facts were similar to mine. I see 7 in your book line up, that book changed my life; I hope you enjoyed it. HOW did you get a Kitchen Aid so cheap and can you get me one? Nice to “meet” you, thrilled to do the HOP with you!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Yay for new blogger friends!! Excited to get to know everyone better!
Got my kitchen aid on sale + rebate + another online discount + free shipping + a gift card!
I don’t think I could find it that cheap again but keep your eye on Bed Bath and Beyond website and they might have some sales around the holidays! 🙂
      Happy blog hopping!

  19. Lara @ Uptite Mamas

Hi! I’m visiting from the blog hop. I love this post!! What fun. I learned so much about you in such a short amount of time AND as it turns out, we have a bunch of things in common!! I said “YES!” to a bunch as I read through – cupcakes, racing, reading, bargain shopping! But wow 14 states!! And Anderson Cooper. So awesome!

  20. Aimee

Wow, we have so much in common! I’m 35, and also obessed with running & working out. (And cupcakes…don’t forget the cupcakes!)

I’m so glad we got a chance to connect through the blog hop! I’m looking forward to following your future posts. 🙂

  21. missmirandat

I really like your creative approach to introducing yourself to everyone – I’m so glad to have you along in the hop! Before I decided to pursue a career in health/fitness, I wanted to be a teacher! Do you teach any particular subject? 🙂 by the way, I love your blog title! I love both chocolate and running 😉 I recently just moved this summer, and it was a crazy experience! I don’t know how you’ve done it so many times – kudos to you! Have a great day!

    Miranda xx

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Hi there Miranda! Thanks for stopping by! And thank you! I was trying to get the creative juices flowing!
I have taught everything from pre-school to 8th grade! My fav subjects to teach are math, reading and science!
Running and chocolate are a great combo! I can’t imagine life without both of them!
Moving is such a pain! Thankfully I’ve been in 1 spot since I got married 4.5 years ago!
See you on the blog 🙂

  22. Farrah

I love that blog hop! I partcipated in the one earlier this year and it was a ton of fun! Unfortunately too busy at the moment to do it justice, so I didn’t opt in, but sigh!

Holy crap on having lived in 14 states, and yay for making your own cleaning products! I’m all about lifting weights/beaches/sunsets too, and goodness, are those Shetland sheepdogs!?!?!? ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Aww well you do have a bit of stuff on your plate miss! Yeah, 14 is a lot! Even more moves within the states! Glad to have been out for the last 4.5 years!
They were supposed to be purebred collies, but I really don’t think they were pure! They seemed more of a mix to me! They were my pups from treatment!

  23. mrsportiasmith

I loved this! What a great idea to list 34 things about yourself! I’m going to keep this as inspo 🙂 Great to meet you in the blog hop!

  24. Teri B.

Well hello there, Fellow Chocolate Lover and Runner (and blog hopper)!!! 🙂 I think if we were to spend a half hour running together we would have no shortage of things to talk about! So impressed by you running 33.5 races last year… but how do you get a half a race?! I hope it wasn’t injury or illness related. So wonderful getting to know a little bit about you. Look forward to following your journey!

    1. chocolaterunnergirl Post author

Thanks for stopping by! Man I would love a talk/run! Those are my favorites 🙂
Sadly my half race was due to a hip injury. And I’ve been dealing with it since Dec! Hoping it is all better soon!
Looking forward to getting to know you better :)!
