I am back! Yay! I am feeling SO much better than I have been the past 2 weeks or so. I was able to get back to the gym last week a few times and boy I was feeling the burn! Taking almost 2 weeks off due to illness was def not in the plans (like it ever is), so I was thrilled to be back! My voice is almost back to normal. Another good thing! I did NOT like sounding like I did while sick.

The past week this is what went down. I will share from last Monday since I was off the week before.
Monday- Body pump- it was a new release and OH my goodness it was HARD! Mix that with having some time off and I could hardly walk on Tuesday.
Tuesday- 2 elliptical miles and an hour of Zumba- it felt nice to stretch out my muscles a bit
Wednesday- Body pump again with a short elliptical warm-up. I missed Zumba due to my car dying and needing a new battery! I was bummed but thankful I was safe and able to get a new battery quickly.
Thursday- Body pump once again- I feel like I am getting a hang of the new release and my muscles were not as sore as they were on Monday.
Friday- 5 miles mixed between the treadmill and elliptical and piyo class- Needless to say, I was DRENCHED in sweat! It felt good to be back at piyo
Saturday & Sunday- We had many friends in town so we ended up walking several miles to/from & at the Zoo on Sat and short walk on Sunday.
Monday- Back to body pump plus a mile jog
Tuesday- More Zumba! Was a blast with my friends and figuring out the new moves to the new songs we are doing in class!
Wednesday – Body pump this morning and used higher weights for a few of the tracks. Then I tackled some sprints on the mill. I was having a hard time getting my breathing down today so I only did 10 sprint cycles instead of 20.
What is on tap-
Thursday- Body pump and hopefully 2-3 miles.
Friday- Piyo and a run outside
Saturday- Walk/jog outside- 5-6 miles
Sunday- Walk/rest day
Monday- Body Pump & maybe piyo and zumba. Depends how I am feeling
Tuesday- 2-3 miles and Zumba
Wednesday- Body pump and yoga (this is for my teacher Andrea!!)
Half marathon training update- Well, it is a little over 4 weeks till the race. Being sick really threw my training for a loop, so I have been trying to play catch up. I was feeling a little stressed about the timing and was chatting with my training buddy. She reminded me I can switch race distances if need be. That made me feel better. Considering my lack of consistent training and my hip issues, I will decide in the next 2 weeks what I will do. I need to remind myself that it is NOT a bad thing to change if my body is saying it is NOT ready for the half. There will always be another race!
