It’s Time to Talk about it, NEDA 2017

Hello friends! I am popping in for a few in to share with you all something that is really near and dear to my heart.  Before I share with you all, I just want to say again thank you to everyone who has been encouraging and supportive of my current health concerns.  I have been at a bit of a standstill waiting to hear back about some tests and information being transferred from previous doctors.  I have my own speculations on what is going on due to my own research, but I really just want some answers and work on a solution!

On that note, here is what I want to discuss with you all today, National Eating Disorder Awareness week.  This year the theme is It’s Time to TALK ABOUT IT!

Eating disorders do not discriminate! They affect both men and women, children, all races and ages. Eating disorders are complex. They stem from a variety of reasons and take on many different forms, but everyone who suffers is worth being helped!!

I want to share some information with you that came from the NEDA website. The site is full of really great information, resources and tools.

Whoa, that is a lot of information that makes me stop in my tracks.  Those numbers make my heart break.  No one should ever have to feel like they are not worth it.  That they are not good enough just as they are.  But you are, you are enough. You are enough just as you are!  You are beautiful, and your body is wonderful and deserving of love each and every day!  I know these words might sound empty if you are struggling with anything in life, but I want you to know that they are true!

I encourage you to take this screening if you struggle with food and/or exercise.  Please know this is a no judgement zone, and that I am here if you need to talk or have any questions!  I am no expert, but I have my own experiences living both in the misery of an eating disorder, and the freedom of recovery!

You are loved dear friends, and oh so worth it!

May you be filled with joy and health!

Thanks for talking about this topic! I love that you are encouraging everyone to take that screening – I think especially in the food/fitness blog world, there may be people out there that are struggling but don’t necessarily realize it yet.

This is a very important topic and one I think is often misunderstood. With three little girls I sure hope to teach them to be strong, confident women comfortable with who they are and the bodies they have.

What an important topic, and definitely needs to be talked about more amongst people. This is also a really great infographic with lots of pertinent information. Thanks for sharing ❤
