April Showers Bring May Flowers…

This week brought a lot of showers in my life.  It has not been easy, but I am thankful for all those around me who have been so supportive with love, hugs, and prayers.
With all the showers in life, there are always rainbows and flowers too.

This week I also received some really great news!
I am now officially an ambassador for Girls Gone Sporty and Energy Bits!!  I am really excited about these wonderful opportunities and grateful these companies see that I would be an asset to their brand!!! So THANK YOU Girls Gone Sporty and Energy Bits!!!!
There will be more to come about these fabulous opportunities soon 🙂


May Goals!
I have been slacking on my goals the last few weeks, so I decided to put them out here to get some accountability and encouragement!

One of my goals for running has to hit 100 miles in a month.  This month I am going to run a 5k (or more depending on my training schedule) a day!  I am really excited about this and I really hope I am able to reach this goal

I also am going to join the plank-a-day challenge!  I do planks in some of my workout classes, but it is an area I seek improvement in.  I will be posting my daily times on instagram.

To run 3 more races.  I am up to 13 races in my quest to run 33 in 2014!

TO GET MORE SLEEP!  This has certainly been the most challenging part of my healthy lifestyle lately.  Insomnia has gotten the best of me and I really need to refocus on getting proper sleep and not just letting the insomnia.

To blog more.  I have so many ideas about posts yet most of them stay in my mind.  So here is to blogging at least 15 times in May!

Foodie Pen Pals May!

This is the first time I am able to share the amazing Foodie Pen Pal program here on this blog!!! I have been part of this amazing program for almost a year now, and I have to say it just keeps getting better and better!
This month Laurel was my FPP match!  She sent an amazing package and it fit my dietary restrictions/needs perfectly 🙂


This is what I saw when I opened my box!


This trail mix looks amazing!! I will certainly be using it when I travel next month!


These berries were really yummy!  I am thinking of adding the rest to the trail mix for my many upcoming flights!


I made this the other night, and then decided to throw it in the blender with some ice and made a frosty like drink! The hubs and I both enjoyed it!

IMG_0916 I had this for breakfast this morning! YUM YUM YUM!  I added a little almond butter and the almonds pictured below! What a great breakfast!

IMG_0914These almonds are fantastic! And the flavor is really yummy!

The day my box arrived I had been working on my office re-do for HOURS, and so I broke into this right away! I love me some dark chocolate 🙂


I have used GU before.  Probably for ALL of my half marathons, some training sessions, and other random events.  I am a fan of this flavor! I will be using it soon on a long run in prep for my half in July 🙂

These little chips are pretty tasty.  I had to laugh because I received my Kona Kase the same day as this package, and it had the same Pop Corners in it! (Review coming soon!)IMG_0919This soda pop bottle made me laugh.  I have never seen a bottle like this in my life! Hehe.  I don’t really drink soda, but I did give this a try before I gave the rest to the hubs.  It had a nice fruity flavor.  The hubs really did enjoy it too!!

Here is more info about the Foodie Pen Pal program that Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean set up!

-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
– Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
